Data as of November 1, 2026

Partial — state directory temporarily unavailable, data as of November 1, 2026. The New Mexico Health Care Authority’s provider search was offline when this page was built, so the assisted living list below holds only the 65 metro facilities we could read from HCA’s directory (209 listings statewide). It is not the complete list. Check HCA’s facility search for any facility not shown, or ask an advisor.

What is in the Albuquerque Senior Advisor facility directory?

The directory lists 65 HCA-licensed assisted living facilities (a partial list while the state's provider search is offline), 22 CMS-certified nursing homes with official star ratings, 25 hospices and 22 home health agencies across Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia and Torrance counties, built only from state and federal records.

Who licenses senior care facilities in New Mexico now?

The New Mexico Health Care Authority's Division of Health Improvement licenses assisted living facilities and nursing homes; the job moved there from the Department of Health on July 1, 2024, and the assisted living rule is now 8.370.14 NMAC, rewritten effective December 23, 2025.

Older guides that cite the Department of Health or 7.8.2 NMAC describe the previous rule.

Which facilities are not in this directory?

Independent living apartments without a care license, non-medical home care agencies and behavioral health or developmental disability group homes are not in this directory, because they are not in HCA's assisted living directory or the CMS datasets we use.

Continuing-care campuses such as La Vida Llena appear through their licensed assisted living or nursing home.

How should you use the directory to build a short list in Albuquerque?

Filter by area and size, pick the facilities whose licensed size fits the kind of place your parent wants, then call about openings and rates and ask each one to show its most recent posted survey report; the public data says nothing about vacancies or prices.

If you would rather not make those calls yourself, a local advisor can do it and report back.
